Environment and energy

The goal is to make the Municipality of Sønderborg carbon-neutral by 2029 and to ensure that it will be a growth and development area in which architecture, cultural heritage and functionality are consistent with this goal. It is crucial that the design of new buildings is based on sustainable principles, and new local plans will require that, as a minimum, all new buildings are Class 1 low-energy buildings (as defined in the Danish building regulations).
